Enabling Active Directory Account Support

An Active Directory Services implementation is required in order to use Active Directory Account Types within Quillix.

Follow these procedures to enable Active Directory Support:

Enable Active Directory Settings in Quillix Process Manager

Active Directory Support must be enabled in the Settings Panel in the Quillix Process Manager. From the Quillix Process Manager:

Toggle the General Settings button on the Process Manager Toolbar to access the Quillix System Settings Panel.
Select the Use Active Directory Services for user authentication check box.
Click Save to save your changes.
Toggle the General Settings button on the Process Manager Toolbar to close the Quillix System Settings Panel.

Enable Active Directory Browsing Permissions for IIS

The Internet Information Server's (IIS) anonymous user account is set by default to IUSR, and the Application Pool identity is set to ApplicationPoolIdentity. It is recommended to change the Application Pool Identity to a member of the Domain Users group, and set the anonymous user account to use the Application Pool Identity.

The IIS server and the server on which Quillix Process Manager is installed MUST belong to a domain; either the domain listed under System Settings, or a domain with a trust relationship.

Create One or More User Accounts

After following the steps above, accounts may be created using the steps outlined in the topic Creating a Windows Active Directory Account. Each account created will be added to the system as an "Active Directory User" account type. Be aware that at this point the account has no Quillix Client permissions to use batch profiles, document types, or workflow queues. You must configure these settings to complete each account's setup.
