Configuring Quillix Fax for RightFax

Once you add the Quillix Fax for RightFax input source to a server group, you must configure:

Optionally, you can configure the Select Indexes tab if you want to capture data saved by the RightFax Server during the fax transmission.

The Quillix Fax for RightFax configuration procedure below begins with configuring settings on the General Info tab.

  1. In Quillix Process Manager, expand the Server Groups container item in the console tree, if it is not already open.
  2. Click on the name of the server group that contains the Quillix Fax for RightFax input source you want to configure.
  3. Under Input Sources, click on the name of the Quillix Fax for RightFax input source.
  4. Under Input Source Tasks, click Configure This Input Source to open the Quillix Fax for RightFax configuration dialog box.
  5. On the General Info tab, use the RightFax Server drop-down list to select the name of the computer hosting the RightFax Server. The names in the list represent all the computers that are detected on your network.
  6. Select the Network Protocol that a Quillix service will use to communicate with the RightFax Server you selected. To complete configuration, the protocol should also be usable by the computer you are using to run Quillix Process Manager. The types of available network protocols are listed below:
  7. For the RightFax Image Directory, enter a path to the folder on the RightFax Server where the images of faxes it receives are stored. You can type the path into the field provided, or you can click the Browse button to locate the folder.

If the RightFax image folder is on the same computer as the Quillix Server, you can use a local path. In most cases, however, the RightFax image folder is not going to be on the same computer as the Quillix Service, so you must use a Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path, such as, "\\machinename\rightfax\image." Verify that the image folder is shared on the network to allow a Quillix Server to access it by means of a UNC path.

  1. At runtime, the Quillix service requires a folder to act as a temporary storage location as it acquires and reformats each fax. Create this "working" folder on a computer in your network so that all the Quillix services that you add to the current server group will be able to access it. Make note of the name you give the folder for the step that follows next.
  2. Return to the General Info tab on the Quillix Fax for Right configuration dialog and enter a path to the Quillix Working Directory folder you created in the previous step. You can use a local path if you created the working folder on the Quillix Server computer AND if there is only one Quillix service assigned to the current Quillix server group. Use a UNC path, however, if the working folder is not local to a single Quillix Server or if there is more than one Quillix service working for the server group.
  3. Using the Select a profile to use for faxes that do not have a status of 'DONE_OK' drop-down list, you must select a Quillix batch profile to enable Quillix to handle faxes that enter the RightFax mailbox without the "OK" status. Faxes that do not have an "OK" status most likely experienced an error during transmission to RightFax.
  4. Optionally, select whether or not to Process only 'RECEIVED' faxes. If a RightFax user sends a fax from the RightFax mailbox Quillix is monitoring, Quillix will import those "Sent" faxes also if this option is not selected.
  5. Optionally, select whether or not to Process 'DUPLICATE' faxes as 'DONE_OK' faxes. A duplicate fax is one that was forwarded to the current mailbox the input source is monitoring from another RightFax mailbox. Quillix will not import duplicate faxes if this option is not selected.
  6. Optionally, select whether or nor to Delete faxes from the RightFax system. Upon import, Quillix will not delete the source fax from the RightFax mailbox if this option is not selected.
  7. Click Apply to save your configuration settings so far.
  8. To complete configuration, you must click on the Fax Mailbox tab to select one or more RightFax mailboxes to monitor.

Verbose Logging

Select Verbose Logging to record in the Quillix Report Log detailed information describing this module's processing activity. Without verbose logging enabled, the Quillix Fax for RightFax input module only records error and failure messages in the log. Verbose logging should be turned off during normal system operation.

Any changes you make to the input source will not take effect until all the Quillix Servers in the server group are stopped and restarted.
