Document Viewer

The Quillix Document Viewer is a full-resolution multi-format viewer capable of rendering a variety of document formats for display in the Quillix Client. The Quillix Document Viewer is capable of natively displaying most document formats including:

PDF
Office (Word, Excel)
TIFF (Bitonal, Greyscale, Color)
JPG (except JPEG 2000)
PNG
GIF
BMP
PCX
TGA

The Quillix Document Viewer provides basic display capabilities for all natively supported documents, and includes additional capabilities for image-type documents (TIFF, JPEG, BMP, etc.). The Document Viewer also provides capabilities for modifying batch and document contents (insert, append, delete pages).

Document Viewer Navigation

The Document Viewer Toolbar provides for basic navigation of pages in a batch or document. The Thumbnail Viewer can also be used for navigation by simply clicking on the desired thumbnail version of a page.

Note: The Document Viewer can be detached, or opened in a separate browser window, by clicking on the Detach button on the far right of the Navigation Toolbar

Modifying Images

Image document types can be modified in order to change their orientation or to crop (snip) a portion of an image. The controls to perform image operations are located on the Image Toolbar on the left of the Document Viewer. The top button on the Image Toolbar is a multi tool button that lets you set the current selection mode. The remaining buttons are used to change the orientation of the displayed image.

Selection Modes

The Quillix Document Viewer provides several different selection modes to control the behavior of the mouse when clicking and dragging on an image displayed in the viewer. The selection mode is set with a flyout toolbar that is displayed when the Selection Mode button is clicked. The available selection modes are:

Pan Image - pan the image in the viewer by clicking and dragging.
Zoom Image (default) - zoom the image in the viewer by clicking and dragging a rectangle to the desired zoom area.
Ad-hoc OCR - lasso a field on the image by clicking and dragging with the mouse. When the mouse button is released, the selected area will be read using OCR and a field selection dialog will be presented for inserting the resulting value into an index field.
Crop Image New - lasso an area of the image by clicking and dragging a crop rectangle. When the mouse button is released, a new image (page) will be created from the selected are. The original image will not be changed.
Crop Image Original - lasso an area of the image by clicking and dragging a crop rectangle. When the mouse button is released, the existing image (page) will be cropped to the new size. The original image will be overwritten (replaced) with the cropped image.

Modifying Batch and Document Pages

The Quillix Document Viewer provides capabilities for changing the contents of a batch or document. This is typically referred to as Batch/Document QC or Quality Control, because it gives the user the ability to replace pages of poor capture quality, or to insert or append pages that were missed when the batch or document was created. In additional to providing for basic navigation, the Document Viewer Toolbar also provides capabilities for QC operations. The QC operations available are:

Insert - insert one or more pages before the selected page.
Append - add one or more pages to the end of the current batch or document.
Replace - replace the selected page with one or more new pages.
Copy - copy the selected page and add to the end of the current batch or document.
Delete - permanently delete the selected page.
