New QCM Installation

Before Installation

Prerequisites

GENERAL

Verify system requirements are met as discussed in the System Requirements topic.
Verify necessary file and directory permissions/credentials on the target installation computer.

SQL DATABASE

Verify installation, access and login credentials for your server.
A database must be created. The installer will script the database.
The installer and Control Center requires a user account with access to DDL commands for the QCM database. The QCM Web Server needs access to only DML commands.

WEB SERVER/IIS

Verify installation, access and login credentials for your server.
If installing on a non-IIS Web Server, install the Microsoft .NET Core 3.1 runtime. The runtime Hosting Bundle for IIS is included with the Windows Installer.

Installing Quillix Content Manager

If the above prerequisites have been met, obtain the Installer from Prevalent or your Authorized Quillix Vendor and run on the target computer. This document covers installation on Microsoft Windows using Internet Information Server (IIS). The QCM Control Center is supported only on Windows. QCM Web can be hosted using any provider that supports .NET Core 3.1, though with reduced functionality if not hosted on Microsoft IIS.

The QCM Installer will give you the option of installing the following components:

QCM Control Center
QCM Web

Select the components that are appropriate for your particular installation and proceed.

If you are installing QCM Web, you will be prompted for the location in which to copy the Web Server files. The default directory is \Inetpub\QCM, where \Inetpub is the default folder created by Microsoft IIS. This folder can be any folder that the Web Server has the ability to access.

Once files have been copied, the installer will prompt to create the database connection and configure IIS.
